How Education and Exam Success Are Judged

How education, exams and research are judged in Vedic and KP astrology — houses 4, 5 and 9, Mercury and Jupiter, and the KP house groups for exams, admission and study abroad.

Education is judged differently depending on the question. Schooling, higher education, competitive exams, foreign education, scholarship, and research have different house combinations.

The Vedic method

In Vedic Astrology:

  • 4th house — basic education
  • 5th house — intelligence and learning capacity
  • 9th house — higher education
  • Mercury — study, memory, logic
  • Jupiter — wisdom and higher knowledge
  • 11th house — success and fulfilment
  • D24 chart — the education-specific divisional chart

The KP method

KP gives 4 and 11 for success in education, 9 and 11 for research success, 6, 9, 11, and 12 for overseas higher studies, and 6, 9, and 11 for a scholarship.

Common questions and the approach

Will I pass the exam?

Vedic: Check the 4th, 5th, and 9th houses, Mercury, Jupiter, and the 11th house. KP: For success, 4 and 11 should be active. For competition, add 6 and 11.

Will I get admission?

Vedic: Check the 4th (education), 9th (higher learning), and 11th (fulfilment). KP: Houses 4, 9, and 11 should support the matter.

Will I study abroad?

Vedic: Check the 4th (education), 9th (higher study), 12th (foreign stay), Rahu, and the dasha. KP: Use 6, 9, 11, and 12 for overseas higher studies.

Will research be successful?

Vedic: Check the 5th (intelligence), 8th (research), 9th (higher learning), Jupiter, and the 11th (success). KP: Use 9 and 11 for research success.

Under the guidance of R P Pandey, these articles are meant to help readers understand the logic of astrology — so they can approach their questions with clarity, patience, and the right direction.

Important note. Astrology should be studied as a system of guidance and timing. A responsible astrologer first examines whether the event is promised; timing is given only after the promise is seen. For health, legal, financial, or medical matters, astrology should be used as supportive guidance and not as a replacement for qualified professional advice.
