The method, in short
- Querent & matter — the lagna lord (lagneśa) is the person asking; the lord of the house that owns the matter (kāryeśa) is the thing asked about.
- Success yogas (v.9–13) — their conjunction, mutual aspect, placement in each other’s houses, the Moon’s support (kambūla), and the strength (exalted/own, not combust) of each.
- Movement (v.25) — fixed lagna & Moon → the matter stays as it is; movable → movement/change; dual → partial.
- Master rule (v.26) — benefics in a kendra/trikoṇa give success; malefics in the 3rd/6th/11th turn favourable; a malefic aspect resists.
